My Facebook and Facebook Messenger Was Hacked What Should I Do?

The first thing you should try is using your mobile phone to reset your password you do this by

1. Go to Facebook.com or the messenger app.
2. Click the “forgot password?” link below the login box as seen below.
   
3. Enter your cell phone. (If that doesn’t work try your email address.)
   
4. If you used your phone you should get a text code to confirm it is you. This will allow you to access your account and chose a new password.
5. If you used your email address check your inbox for a confirmation link and click on the link. Once on the page enter a new password.

If neither of these methods work you may be able to regain access by having your friends or family report the account as compromised. That will put it into a security locked state and will allow you to use ID verification techniques to regain control of it.
